More about Emily Murray:
Emily Murray is a mom of two from Maine. She has been working with families for the past 25 years through Birth Roots, the nonprofit she founded in 2004, and Hand in Hand Parenting where she became a Certified Instructor in 2013 and Program Director in 2019.
She founded Birth Roots Center for Community Supported Parenting after working as a Doula (Support throughout pregnancy and postpartum) to translate that one-on-one doula support to a community-based model. Emily found Hand in Hand when she discovered that even after all her work in early parenting spaces, she was not able to be the parent she wanted to be. She was struggling with how to respond to the normal range of emotions and behaviors that come with the toddler phase. Her experience in learning and using the Hand in Hand Tools was so transformative she decided to complete the Instructor Certification Program with Hand in Hand.
Emily is now the Program Director for Hand in Hand but still teaches classes for both parents and the professionals who support parents. She has a special fondness for working with parents of toddlers and helping them through that same stuck spot she experienced.
